The Colbinabbin Pre-School was established in 1993, initially as a visiting mobile service and progressing to independently operating with three permanent, qualified educators.
The service, situated at the Colbinabbin Recreation Reserve, was formally the Colbinabbin Claybird Shooting Club. Over the past twenty-two years it has been transformed into an inviting rural kindergarten, meeting the needs of the Colbinabbin and district community.
Its uniqueness lies in the rural setting in the Recreation Reserve where the service is nestled amidst the community’s sporting facilities (football, netball, tennis, bowls and swimming pool) as well as surrounding paddocks and creek which all assist in providing a natural environment for exploration and learning.
The rural setting also promotes sustainability and our service has abundant vegetable patches, fruit trees, hen house, worm farm and composting systems.
At the Colbinabbin Pre-School our small group sizes ensure that the educators, children and families have the opportunities to develop meaningful relationships and work in collaborative partnerships for the best outcomes for each child.
The educators provide a play based program focusing on the interests and needs of each child with opportunities for child initiated activities as well as planned experiences for intentional learning.
Rural, natural, inviting environment that encourages exploration.
Sustainable learning and play based programing.
Meaningful relationships with families and children in small group settings.
